Quick Catch-Up

Finishing up 2010

I feel like the end of the year was a whirlwind, as I am sure it is like that for most.  With the Holiday Season in full swing and end of the year hustle at work.  It makes me sad to really think about it,  I wish I could slow down and really enjoy every moment.

We decided this year we where going to have our first real tree.  I always remember them as a kid but have never had one since we started our own family.

Tiana helping Evan get geared up to go search for and cut down our very own special Christmas Tree.

Pulling into the Christmas Tree Farm, looks like we will have lots of trees to pick from

Here is the other side.....just as many.  This is going to be FUN!!

Evan tapped out on the ride there so Daddy gets to carry him around while we look for our tree.  No  worries he works out plenty.............. his arms will hold up!

Tiana checking out the selection.

We got to take a hayride around the Farm, they also sell Blueberries in the summer and grow several kids of Bamboo.

Well here it is, after we cut about three feet off of it.  We have 10 ft ceilings but that does hold a 13 1/2 foot tree.  We really enjoyed this tree and the house smelled wonderful all season long.  We look forward to doing it again next year.

THANKFULNESS

Last night I had one of those nights....I left work feeling EXTREMELY tired, my back hurt, when I got home with the kiddo's,Tiana needed tons of help with her homework, nothing was going the way she wanted it to and  Evan just wanted me to hold him,  I couldn't even get dinner started and I knew my hubby would be arriving home soon from work.

Lucky for me he called first and stopped and picked up something for dinner.  Extra points for him!!  He makes it home with dinner I try to eat but there is to much going on.  Finally I reached my max, I started complaining out loud about how there was so many things that could be different if this was this way or if that could go this way.  Needless to say it didn't make me feel any better so we called it a night and all went to bed.

Upon waking this morning I noticed all the stress of the night before was gone and it was a new day. I have a hour long drive to work so I do a lot of thinking in the car, it seems to be the only time I am ever alone and have a clear head.  As my mind starts to go I just keep thinking about how unhappy I was with myself for acting the way I did.  As an adult and parent I should suck it up and take my stress and release it elsewhere, I know this..........

With all that being said.  Thinking about the coming Holiday of Thanksgiving.  I try and think of all the things I am thankful for, trying to keep a list going in my head.  Before I realize my list is to long and there are so many that I could NEVER put them in order.  It made me feel even worse about last night.  I am so thankful and so blessed for everything in my life.  I just wish I knew how to express it better, I know we are human and fall short but still it bothers me.

I guess the realization I am coming to is knowing you are thankful is one thing, but actually being able to show it is not always easy.  This is something I want to work on personally....being able to show my thankfulness to others.  The ones who don't hear my prayers and read my heart.

Knock Knock

One thing I will never forget about being a kid was.......... when you are excited about the coming day it seemed to take forever for the hour to arrive.  Tiana wanted to put her costume on the second her feet hit the floor on Halloween morning.  Evan would have been ok with that too, he was in love with his costume for sure.  We would put it on him and he would walk around for hours with it on until I decided to take it off of him, knowing he had to be burning up.  It was finally time...we let them get dressed and my sister and niece joined us.

They had an awesome time running around the yard before night fall.

It was impossible to get them all looking at the same time.  They were ready to get this show on the road.

My little Monkey ready to climb out of the wagon

My sweet little Ladybug Hailey

Off we go around the neighborhood.  We usually don't make to far and Tiana is ready to go home and give out candy.  She likes sitting outside and looking at all this kids costumes just as much as getting candy.

Someone did not like staying in the wagon, so he walked awhile.  We had a great time and really enjoyed the little ones.  Tiana was glad to not be the only one running around this year.

Tiana teaching Evan the ins and outs for pumpkin cleaning

He was very eager to learn and help

Although he was not crazy about the texture once he felt it on his hands, but it wasn't enough to stop him.

Here is the finished product.......turn the lights off mom!!!!

Much better.  Our 2010 Jack O' Lantern.

Yo Gabba Gabba!!!

Thanks to wonderful Grammy and Papa my sister and I were able to take or little babes to see one of their favorite shows LIVE at TPAC.

They were in awe...... Tiana even mentioned that she didn't think Evan was blinking at all because his eyes would not quit watering.  We had so much fun, it was even kinda sad when it ended we were having so much FUN!

I actually got him to look at me to snap a shot, although you can tel  he was not very pleased I was talking to him or the fact that I was trying to take his picture.

We acted silly and had a really good time!

Hailey wanted to eat the paper glasses rather than wear them/

Our Trip To Cherry Hill Farm

I know two blogs in one day....but I am behind.  I have been so busy at work I have not had any spare time.

Every year we try and make it to at least one Pumpkin Patch if not 2.  We have been to different ones over the years, but this year we started seeing signs for a new one in Dickson.  That was a plus!!  Being able to cut down on drive time always makes me happy.

So here it is our trip to Cherry Hill Farm. We were their first customers.  I always like to get a early start.

Tiana would have stayed on this slide the ENTIRE time if we would have let her.

Lots of stuff to do for the kiddos

Dad even took part in the activities.....he is a kid at HEART
